Letter of Intent signed in Osnabrück

It was a very special Wednesday on March 15th. Two colleagues from the ParkinsonNet team traveled to Osnabrück, Germany, to sign a letter of intent with the board of management of the University Hospital Münster and management board of Klinikum Osnabrück.

After a wonderful tour of the clinic, the #EUREGIO health region met under the chairmanship of Minister Dr. Andreas Philippi. A meeting at which we discussed, among other things, the possibilities of networks and digitalization of care.

What does the letter of intent mean?
This letter of intent expresses the intention of the partners to collaborate with the aim of establishing structures to work together. The region of Osnabrück borders that of the Netherlands. This makes transnational cooperation between the neighboring regions interesting, particularly considering:

  • Education of the different health care providers involved in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease to support the best possible care.
  • Communication and collaboration between experts of each profession to create a continuous transnational exchange about Parkinson’s disease in specific regions.
  • Identification of synergies to further overcome current hurdles for integrated Parkinson’s disease network care in the health care systems of the Netherlands and Germany.

We are very much looking forward to exploring the possibilities and further collaboration together!
